Kakeru appears to be quiet and reserved, but as he opens up to Naho and Suwa he is shown to be deeply caring and considerate. He does not share his feelings a lot as he believes he is nothing but a burden. Kakeru is suicidal and is show to be depressed throughout the show, but Naho and the rest of his friends give him a reason to live.
