Suwa is shown to be very compassionate and outgoing. He's very friendly and urges Kakeru to join the soccer club and is invites Kakeru on their walk on his first day of school. Suwa is also a very good friend to Naho and she confides in him. Suwa helps Kakeru with working through his depressive feelings and offers him his support and care. Suwa is in love with Naho, but sacrifices his chances with her so Naho and Kakeru can be together.
